AdWords Recommended Resources
People keep asking me for recommendations on Adwords guides and tools.
So I thought why not just create a page that says what's good ... and what "needs a little more work".
As opposed to other "review pages" out there, I'm not just shilling what I can get a commission on.
For example, I recommend Google's own help pages - even though I don't make a dime off that recommendation.
Conversely, there are a lot of sleezy "get rich quick with AdWords" guides out there. I don't recommend them even though I could probably make significant money by doing so.
There's too much noise out there on the internet, especially with things related to internet marketing.
Anyway, enough rambling.
I like to quote Joe from Reservoir Dogs:
Okay ramblers ... let's get rambling!
Best Beginner/Intermediate AdWords Guide:
Perry Marshall's The Definitive Guide to AdWords

Okay, this is a standard recommendation. But Perry, and his right-hand man Bryan Todd, have put together a great guide.
First of all the guide gives a great introduction to AdWords. But it also gets you in the mindset of playing the AdWords game to win.
You structure your adgroups to do laser-focused groups of keywords, and your ads speak to that focus.
They also point out that to not be doing split-testing of your ads is leaving money on the table. I couldn't agree more.
Anyway, lot's of good stuff.
If you're whining about not getting going at all with AdWords, it means you probably don't have this guide. Or else you have it and haven't really started putting things in practice.

Best Advanced AdWords Course:
AdWords Profit Secrets
Okay I'll admit to a bit of bias here, since it's my own course.
AdWords Profit Secrets covers different topics, such as keyword discovery, AdWords Copywriting Secrets, optimizing your landing page, name squeeze page secrets, defeating the Google Slap (and improving quality score) and more.
February 2010 Update: I greatly expanded the AdWords Copywriting Secrets guide to include some new "voodoo" that I've discovered.
This is now offered as a separate course as well (see below).

Best AdWords Copywriting Guide:
AdWords Copywriting Secrets
I'm the first Adwords expert to come out with an eBook purely focused on AdWords Copywriting. How important is Adwords Copywriting? As I'm writing this Perry Marshall is unveiling an ultra advanced coaching program for AdWords Copywriting - his AdWords Copy Intensive Coaching Program. If you're doing significant AdWords advertising that will more than pay for itself. So if you're at that level, and can afford it, then go for it! His page gives some good info on AdWords Copywriting so at least check out what he has to say.
But an alternative to that is to get
AdWords Copywriting Secrets.
Not only is the price a lot less than Perry's program, it's a "drop in the bucket" compared to what you'll gain. Especially if you're doing at least $10 spend in AdWords (or plan to spend at least that much) and you want to "take your ads to a better level". Pay less per click, get more clicks per day, get more average sales per day.

Best Guide for Affiliate Marketing (using AdWords):

Actually a lot of AdWords guides tend to be geared toward affiliate marketing. For example, "Google Cash" should really be called "Using Google AdWords to make money as an affiliate" - but of course that's not as catchy.
The author of Day Job Killer (I'll just call it "DJK" from here on), Chris McNeeney, has done a whole series of guides on AdWords for affiliate marketing (with some token mention of expanding into selling your own products). You can get value from each one, individually, but Day Job Killer is the best overall, in my opinion.
For one thing, it does a great job of keeping you within "what works". So you don't spend a lot of money on broad keywords, before finding they don't covert.
And also how to effectively pick good products to promote.
An example of a "bit" from DJK that I liked, is where he talks about ad differentiation.
So many people try to talk about finding "the one" ad type that works. But as Chris points out, you also have to look at the competition. To me this is Business 101, applied to AdWords advertising. But a lot of people miss it. You need to think how your ad will stand out. Maybe you emphasize a different benefit. Or add a benefit that someone else doesn't have. For example, if there's free shipping, and other ads don't show that - then put it in your ad.
There are a number of such great things in this guide.
And it's also about taking you step-by-step so that you can quickly take action.
As someone who also conveys Adwords techniques and "processes" to follow, I can tell you it's not easy to give step-by-step formulas.
Chris does a great job of doing that, for the techniques that he lays out.
Bottom line:
If you want to do affiliate marketing, via AdWords, using proven techniques, then Day Job Killer is a great investment.
Oh, and if you buy through my link, I'll give you some added information to make you even more profitable. You'll get my own bonus guide "AdWords Mad Scientist Day Job Killer". For example, I'll tell you the one affiliate network that he lists, that I recommend avoiding (and why). Plus other things to take his guidance to the next level. Just forward your Clickbank receipt (or order number) to me, at , and I'll send it to you.
